Malcolm Lancaster is making a clean sweep of his family business with a new name to reflect the change. New England Waste, formerly Glen Innes Waste, was founded by Howard Lancaster in 1979, providing waste management solutions to domestic and commercial clients in and around Glen Innes.

Howard’s youngest son Malcolm took over the business earlier this year and is expanding operations into the Tenterfield, Glen Innes, Inverell, Guyra, Uralla, Armidale, Warwick and Stanthorpe areas.

“We made the decision to rebrand the business as New England Waste because of the expansion into more areas of the New England area, Malcolm says.

New England Waste supplies skip bins, hook binscommercial waste management solutions for businesses, worksites and large events as well as septic services and portaloos.

“Dad is 79 and he’s got to the point where he likes to think he’s retired but also likes to keep his finger in the business,” Malcolm says. “Dad’s been heavily involved in the Glen Innes community, he’s always been active, and is now just winding down.”

New England Waste has five trucks in total, including a septic, front fork truck, two skip bins and a hook bin truck.
“We are also accredited to take asbestos, in fact we have done a lot of work with different constructions companies,” Malcolm says.

Skip bins are available in 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 cubic metre sizes.

A tip for renovators is to start filling the skip with flat items and remember to fill up the corners. “We can accommodate small residential jobs through to large commercial and business waste management solutions,” Malcolm says.
